NORFOLK, Va. - The 20th St. Jude Dream Home giveaway officially took place on Sunday.
This years St. Jude Dream home winner is a regular St. Jude supporter and couldn't believe her luck when she got the call!
The winner, Karen Farquer is a public school teacher and lives in Virginia Beach.
News 3 captured the moment when she and her family had the chance to tour her brand new home for the first time.
EDC Homes constructed a beautiful house that is located in the Ocean View neighborhood just blocks away from the beach. It's 3,000 square feet with four bedrooms and 2.5 bathrooms. The home is worth around $475,000.

This is the 20th year News 3 has presented the St. Jude Dream Home Giveaway and despite the pandemic, this year broke records in the amount of money raised.

Money raised from ticket sales goes back to help St. Jude. They are a world leader in treating and defeating childhood cancer. Families receiving treatment from the hospital never receive a bill.
