Governor Northam set to visit TCC's Virginia Beach campus

VIRGINIA BEACH, Va. - Governor Northam plans to visit Tidewater Community College's Virginia Beach campus on Thursday.

Governor Northam is set to visit the campus at 10 a.m., Thursday at the Regional Health Professions Center.

The governor will be able to take an up-close look at eligible programs for the "Get Skilled, Get a Job, Give Back," initiative.

Governor Northam's proposed budget includes $145 million over the next couple of years to make school tuition free for low and middle-income students.

The governor will meet with students and tour the health center, which is home to the college's programs in respiratory therapy, emergency medical services, diagnostic medical sonography, occupational therapy assistant, phlebotomy, physical therapy assistant, health information management, radiography and medical laboratory technology.
