HAMPTON, Va. - Tropical Storm Isaias barreled through Hampton Roads in a day, but the cleanup is taking much longer.
Winds hit 59 mph as the storm passed through Hampton and it caused widespread damage.
Isaias hit our area with high winds, rain and many tornado warnings before producing some tornadoes that caused severe damage and killed two people in Bertie County.
The City of Hampton said their debris pile from storm cleanup is 23,000 cubic yards and weighs 5,750 tons!
Hampton's Public Works and crews worked 12-hour days with no days off since August 4, the city said.
