Hampton drive-by shooting leaves man injured, police searching for suspect

The Hampton Police Division is asking for the public's help in identifying a suspect or suspects in connection with a shooting that occurred September 27.

At approximately 1:03 a.m., dispatch received a call in reference to a walk-in shooting victim at a local hospital.

Upon arrival, officers located a 21-year-old man who had been struck by gunfire. His injuries were determined to be non-life-threatening.

Police learned that the victim was shot at by the occupants of another vehicle while driving in the area of the first block of Village Drive.

The motive and circumstances surrounding this incident remain under investigation and there is no suspect information to disseminate at this time.
