No mobile meth lab found after Hampton fire investigation; man arrested for drug possession

HAMPTON, Va. - Crews responded to the scene of a "possible mobile meth lab" on Tuesday morning.

Fire officials tweeted and said they responded to 9 Woodland Road for the "possible mobile meth lab/hazmat incident" around 6:30 a.m.

Police also tweeted and they said they are investigating it as "a potential hazmat situation."

Around 12:15 p.m., fire officials said there was no mobile meth lab found and units were clearing the scene.

Woodland Road was closed in both directions between I-64 and Mercury Blvd., and reopened around 12:15 p.m.

Police announced 36-year-old Robert Comer of Hampton has been arrested and charged with simple possession of a controlled substance (schedule II narcotic) in connection with this incident.
