Hampton man returns home with gunshot wound, police investigate shooting

HAMPTON, Va. - Police are asking for the public’s help to identify the suspect(s) in connection with a shooting that happened Wednesday.

Around 8 p.m., Public Safety Communications got a call about a shooting victim in the first block of Blackwater Lane. Officers found a 21-year-old male victim who had been shot, police said.

He was taken to a local hospital where he is being treated for non-life-threatening injuries.

Police said a preliminary investigation revealed that the victim entered his home suffering from an apparent gunshot wounds.

The motive and circumstances surrounding this incident remain under investigation and there is no suspect information at this time, according to police.
