Hampton Police search for bank robbery suspect accused of passing note to steal money

HAMPTON, Va. - Police were looking for the public’s help in identifying the suspect in connection with a bank robbery that happened last week.

Around 9:30 a.m., Public Safety Communications got a call about a bank robbery at the Bayport Credit Union located in the 1100 block of Big Bethel Road. The investigation revealed that the suspect entered the business and passed a note implying a firearm and demanding money.

Police said after the suspect got money, the person fled the scene in a vehicle.

On March 2 police said investigators identified the subject in connection with this incident. Bryan Adrian Lee, a 34-year-old Newport News man, has warrants on file for two counts of Bank Robbery, two counts of Entering a Bank While Armed and one count of Use of a Firearm in Commission of Felony in connection with the two bank robberies at Bay Port Credit Union. Lee is also wanted for the bank robbery that occurred at the same location on February 15, according to police.
