Hampton Police investigate carjacking incident after ride-share driver held at gunpoint

HAMPTON, Va. - Hampton Police are seeking the public’s assistance in identifying those in connection to a robbery and carjacking incident.

On October 1 at 2:42 a.m., officials received a call regarding a carjacking that had just occurred in the area of Briarfield Road and Aberdeen Road.

According to the investigation, a 53-year-old man, who was working as a ride-share driver, picked up a man and two women near Big Bethel Road and was taking them to their desired destination on Aberdeen Road.

During the ride, the man placed a gun to the driver and demanded that he get out of the vehicle.

The driver stopped the vehicle and the suspects fled in the driver’s white 2018 Nissan Versa with Virginia license plates. Police say the vehicle was last seen southbound on Aberdeen Road.

Police describe the first suspect as a black male last seen wearing all dark clothing. The second and third suspects are described as Black women with dark hair and dark clothing.
