Hampton Police investigate drive-by shooting that leaves one man injured

HAMPTON, Va. - The Hampton Police Division is seeking the public’s help in identifying the suspect(s) in connection with a Sunday shooting.

Around 3:42 p.m., officials received a call in reference to a late-reported shooting in the 200 block of Lassiter Drive.

A 22-year-old man was taken to a local hospital to be treated for non-life-threatening injuries. The incident was originally reported to Newport News Police.

According to the investigation, the 22-year-old was walking in the area when he was shot by a passing vehicle. The motive and circumstances remain under investigation, and police say there is no suspect information at this time.

Police ask if you or anyone you know has information that will assist police, to contact the Hampton Police Division at 757–727–6111 or the Crime Line at 1–888-LOCK-U-UP. Crime Line callers remain anonymous and never appear in court. If a Crime Line tip results in an arrest, the caller may be eligible for a cash reward of up to $1000.00.
