HAMPTON, Va. - The Hampton Police Division is asking for the public's help in finding whoever was responsible for a drive-by shooting that left a man injured Thursday night.
Just before 11 p.m., dispatchers received a call in reference to a shooting that had just happened in the 2100 block of Kecoughtan Road.
Officers arrived on scene to find a 22-year-old man who had been shot. He was taken to a local hospital for treatment for his injuries, which are said to be non-life-threatening.
After a preliminary investigation, police say the man was walking in the area when someone in a passing vehicle fired shots, which hit the victim.
The motive and circumstances surrounding this incident are still under investigation, and there is no suspect information at this time.
