Hampton Police search for suspect wanted for stealing Yorkie puppy from pet store

HAMPTON, Va. - Hampton Police is looking for a person wanted for stealing a Yorkie from a business's kennel early Wednesday morning.

Officials say around 3:44 a.m., they received a call in reference to a commercial burglar alarm in the 4000 block of West Mercury Blvd.

When officers arrived they found a door unlocked and checked the building.

According to the preliminary investigation, force was used to gain access to the canine room of the store. Police say the suspect fled the store on foot with a Yorkie puppy from the kennel.

The suspect is described as a unknown race male wearing a black face mask, a black jacket, black pants, black shoes, and black gloves. There are no photos of the suspect available at this time.
