Man wanted in connection to Hampton shooting that leaves woman hospitalized

HAMPTON, Va. - The Hampton Police Division is asking for the public's help in locating a man wanted in connection with a shooting that occurred on September 26, 2020.

22-year-old Israel Hyman, of Hampton, has been identified and is wanted in connection to the shooting.

At approximately 2:25 a.m., dispatch received a call in reference to a shooting in the 700 block of Childs Avenue.

When officers arrived, they located a 41-year-old woman who had been struck by gunfire. She was taken to a local hospital with non-life-threatening injuries.

The preliminary investigation revealed the victim was shot on the porch of a vacant residence by a male suspect.

Hyman has warrants on file for one count of maiming, one count of use of firearm in commission of a felony, and one count of possession of a firearm by a convicted felon.
