NORFOLK, Va. - A new partnership is making sure no one goes hungry during this uncertain time.

On Thursday the Foodbank of Southeastern Virginia and the Eastern Shore announced a partnership to collect and distribute food at area YMCA locations.

Staff from the Food Bank and YMCA will work together at the grab-and-go drive thru model sites starting Friday.

The Foodbank is also working with Mercy Chefs and Senior Services of Southeastern Virginia to make sure kids and seniors have what they need. This includes more than 2000 pre-made meals given out each day.

“This is an opportunity for us to get together and do something that is absolutely essential and necessary and so we’re going to make available our YMCAs that have been adequately put to rest for right now for the next couple weeks so we can make them available for food collection and food distribution,” Anthony Walters, the President of YMCA of South Hampton Roads said.
