VIRGINIA BEACH, Va. – The BayPort Credit Union Holiday Lights at the Beach will return for the 2020 holiday season, beginning Friday, November 13 and continuing nightly through January 3, 2021.

According to a release, the annual drive-through holiday light display on the Virginia Beach Boardwalk will require guests to purchase tickets in advance to limit person-to-person contact. Tickets will be scanned on mobile devices upon entry.

Guests drive their vehicles on the Virginia Beach Boardwalk through holiday, nautical and adventure-themed light displays, listening on their radios to a soundtrack playing traditional holiday music. According to a release, a Surfing Santa and a 40-foot-tall dancing light Christmas tree have been added to the display for 2020.

Mike Hilton, Creative Director for IMGoing, the entertainment company contracted through the city of Virginia Beach, says the tradition is fitting, especially this year.

“People have been, let’s face it, a little bit stressed the past several months, so having something that’s fun and relaxing and encouraging for families to do is something I think people are looking forward to,” said Hilton.

Holiday Lights at the Beach will run 5:30 p.m. to 10 p.m. Sundays through Thursdays, and 5:30 p.m. to 11 p.m. Fridays through Saturdays. Tickets are $17 per passenger vehicle, $30 for limousines, $50 for buses and $30 for minibuses.

Tickets will go on sale on Eventbrite Thursday, October 15 at 10 a.m. Click herefor a link.
