HAMPTON, Va. - The northbound lanes of Interstate 664 have reopened after being shut down due to State Police conducting an investigation.
Officials say a Virginia State Trooper was traveling north on I-664 when he was flagged down by people on the Powerplant Parkway exit ramp. When he pulled over, he found a Chevrolet Equinox that had been struck by multiple gunshots.
The male driver and male passenger were both taken to the hospital with serious but non-life-threatening injuries.
Interstate 664 was immediately shut down to preserve the crime scene. Preliminary investigations reveal that the shooting occurred in the northbound lanes of I-664 between Aberdeen Road and Powerplant Parkway.
