Infant found in unoccupied vehicle in Chesapeake, dies at hospital

CHESAPEAKE, Va. - A child has died after being left in a hot car on Tuesday.

Around 12:30 p.m. Chesapeake Police responded to a report of a child left in a vehicle.

When they got to the scene which was in the 900 block of Adventure Way, it was found that an 8-month-old female infant was left in an unoccupied vehicle for several hours.

Medics responded, provided first aid and transported the child to a local hospital where she was pronounced deceased, police said.

The incident is currently under investigation.
