Isle of Wight Police investigate death after 19-year-old found dead in vehicle

ISLE OF WIGHT, Va. - The Isle of Wight County Sheriff’s Office is investigating a death after a body was found in a vehicle Sunday morning.

According to officials, police were called to the 2000 block of Elmwood Drive in the Carrsville area around 11:00am to conduct a welfare check on a man found slumped over the steering wheel of a car.

When police arrived they discovered that 19-year-old Casey Dakota Cagle was dead. He was taken to the Office of Chief Medical Examiner in Norfolk for an autopsy.

Officials determined that Cagle died from a single gunshot wound.
