James City County Police investigate homicide after man's body found near motel

JAMES CITY COUNTY, Va. - James City County Police are investigating a homicide after a man was found dead in a grassy area near a motel Saturday morning.

According to officials, around 7: 30 a.m. JCC Police responded to the Motel Zuma located at 6493 Richmond Road in reference to a man found dead in a grassy area next to the parking lot.

The motel is just two miles from Williamsburg Premium Outlets.

Officials identified the man as 45-year-old Terrence Orlando Pressey.

His body was taken to the Office of the Chief Medical Examiner’s Office in Norfolk for an autopsy.

The autopsy determined that Pressey was a victim of a homicide.

Police did not disclose the exact cause of death and the investigation remains on-going.
