ELIZABETH CITY, N.C. - Sentara Albemarle Medical Center arranged for a local musician to play for a patient in the Intensive Care Unit.
Sentara says a recent patient was placed in the Intensive Care Unit and was diagnosed with failure to thrive.
The patient told employees of Sentara about her father's love for music.
The hospital then arranged for a local musician to come play some of the patient's favorite songs.
Sentara says the patient's reaction was immediate and proved the impact that music has on people.
