RICHMOND, Va. -- Love is in the air at Chippenham Hospital, where childhood sweethearts got married earlier this week.
The hospital shared photos on their Facebook page, congratulating Patricia Malpass and Bill Keller on their special day.
"They were smitten with each other 50 years ago and lost contact," the hospital posted.
After reconnecting, Keller proposed in a private jet on the way home from Chicago. Their wedding was scheduled for next week, but Patricia had medical issues that put her in Chippenham Hospital.
So, the couple decided to not to wait any longer and got married right then and there inside the hospital room.
A Chippenham Hospital staff member served as ring bearer and the hospital chaplain performed the ceremony.
There was even a wedding cake from The Mixing Bowl.
"We were honored to be part of Mr. & Mrs. Keller’s day. Congratulations!" the hospital wrote.
