HAMPTON, Va. - Investigators with the Hampton Police Division have arrested a man in connection with a shooting in the first block of Triple Crown Court that left a woman injured last week.
Officials announced Monday that they have charged Benjamin J. Roberson Jr. with one count of Malicious Wounding, one count of Use of Firearm in Commission of Felony and one count of Discharge of a Firearm in Occupied Dwelling.
The shooting happened around 12:28 p.m. on November 20. When officers arrived on scene, they found a woman who had been shot. She was taken to a local hospital to be treated for non-life-threatening injuries.
The preliminary investigation revealed that the victim was shot by a man she knew during a confrontation at the Magruder Run apartment complex.
Police did not release the motive nor the circumstances surrounding this incident this shooting.
Roberson remains in custody at the Hampton City Jail.
