Man charged with murder after fatal shooting in Franklin

FRANKLIN, Va. - Detectives have charged a suspect with murder after a fatal shooting that happened Sunday.

Police said around 8 p.m., the Franklin Police Department communications center got a call about shots fired at the Hi-Lo located in the 1400 block of South Street.

When police got there they found 47-year-old Rolando Bynum suffering from gunshot wounds. Bynum was pronounced deceased at the scene, according to police.

A suspect has been taken into custody for this incident. The suspect has been identified as 25-year-old Keonte Flythe, 25.

Flythe was charged with First Degree Murder and Use of a Firearm in the Commission of a Felony.

Flythe has been taken to Western Tidewater Regional Jail where he is currently being held without bond.

There is no further information from police at this time.
