NEWPORT NEWS, Va. - The Newport News Police Department is investigating a homicide after a triple shooting in the 1300 block of Roanoke Avenue Thursday afternoon left one person dead.
Just before 3 p.m., officers responded to the area in reference to multiple shots fired. When they arrived on scene, they found three male victims.
Medics took two of the victims to a local hospital with what appeared to be life-threatening injuries.
Police say one of the victims died at the hospital as a result of his injuries.
The investigation remains ongoing.
