Man arrested in connection with homicide on B Avenue in Norfolk

NORFOLK, Va. – Norfolk Police have made an arrest in a shooting that killed a man.

Authorities received a call about a shooting that took place in the 700 block of B Avenue just before midnight on May 29.

When officers arrived, they found 25-year-old Paul L. Robinson of Norfolk, who had been shot.

He was taken to Sentara Norfolk General Hospital, where he was pronounced dead.

On June 3, police announced they've arrested Lamont S. Smallwood, 32, and charged him with second-degree murder and use of a firearm in connection with Robinson's death.

The arrest was made in collaboration by the Norfolk Police Fugitive Squad, the Norfolk Police Special Operations Team and the U.S. Marshals Fugitive Task Force.
