The preliminary investigation revealed that the victim, identified as 51-year-old Paul F. Stone, was a passenger in a Toyota Avalon. Police say the driver of the Toyota was making a turn onto Lafayette Boulevard from Tidewater Drive when they were hit by a Chrysler van.

Stone was pronounced dead on scene, and the driver of the Toyota Avalon was taken to the hospital with minor injuries.
