Man dies in Virginia Beach motorcycle crash

VIRGINIA BEACH, Va. - A man has died after a motorcycle crash in the 900 block of Atlantis Drive Monday night.

Just before 9 p.m., dispatchers received a report of a single-vehicle motorcycle crash in the area.

Virginia Beach Police and EMS responded to the scene and found the driver of the motorcycle suffering from significant injuries. He was pronounced dead while on the way to the hospital.

A preliminary investigation revealed that he was driving on Atlantis Drive when he lost control, was thrown from the motorcycle and hit a tree.

News 3 spoke with Virginia Beach Police after reports that crews were kicked while on scene of the fatal crash. According to officials, more than one firefighter was "pushed and kicked" but not several.

This case is being investigated by the departments Fatal Crash Team.
