NEWPORT NEWS, Va. - The Newport News Police Department responded to a shooting that left a man injured Tuesday night.
According to the department, the call came in at 7:06 p.m. for a shooting victim in the 400 block of S. Trellis Court. When officers arrived, they met with the victim, a 28-year-old Newport News man, who said he was shot by a known individual in the 100 block of Christian Street.
The victim was taken to a local hospital with non-life threatening injuries, police said.
The investigation remains ongoing.
