PORTSMOUTH, Va. - The Portsmouth Police Department is investigating a shooting that left a man seriously injured on High Street Thursday evening.
According to police, the call for the shooting came in at 4:32 p.m. Police responded to the 2900 block of High Street, where they found a man suffering from a gunshot wound in his lower torso.
The man was taken to a local hospital for treatment of a life-threatening injury.
This is an active investigation and detectives are working to identify suspects. When more information becomes available, an update will follow.
