PORTSMOUTH, Va. - A man walked into a local fire station to seek help after being shot Thursday night.

Police tell News 3 the call came in at 9:14 p.m.

They say the man walked into Fire Station 1 at 1601 Effingham Street. He was shot in the torso.

Medics took him to a local hospital for treatment for his injuries, which are said to be serious.

There is no further information.
