HAMPTON, Va. - Police are trying to identify the suspect(s) that they say are connected with a shooting that took place on Sunday.
At around 1:56 p.m., officials received a call in reference to a shooting that had just happened in the area of West Weaver Road and Pennwood Drive. Officers located a 20-year-old male victim at the scene who had been struck by gunfire.
He was transported to a local hospital with life-threatening injuries.
The preliminary investigation revealed the victim was walking in the area when he encountered a subject who shot at him. The motive and circumstances surrounding this incident remain under investigation, and there is no suspect information to release at this time.
