VIRGINIA BEACH, Va. - Police are investigating after a man was injured by gunfire on Friday.
A victim was taken to the hospital with what police say are non-life threatening injuries after being shot in the 100 block of Ocean Side Court.
This shooting took place about 2 miles from the Oceanfront and follows a string of shootings that has taken place in Virginia Beach.
Records show there have now been seven shootings since May 31 near the Oceanfront.
The Virginia Beach City Council held a special meeting in regards to the current spike in violence and plans to hold another meeting on Friday.

Police are currently investigating the shooting and say there are no further details to release at this time.
