PORTSMOUTH, Va. – Detectives with the Portsmouth Police Department Major Crimes Unit are investigating a Monday afternoon shooting that left one man seriously injured.
Around 12:54 p.m. Monday, dispatchers got a call about a man who was shot near the 2400 block of Charleston Avenue. Medics arrived on scene and treated the man for multiple gunshot wounds to his lower body and an upper extremity.
The victim was then taken to a local hospital for further treatment.
There is no further information.
Detectives are actively investigating this incident.
