VIRGINIA BEACH, Va. - The Virginia Beach Police Department responded to a serious crash involving a vehicle and a semi truck in the 1800 block of Laskin Road near Republic Road Saturday morning.
According to police, the call for the crash came in at 4:33 a.m.
The adult male driver of the vehicle was taken to a local hospital with what are believed to be life-threatening injuries, police said.
The case remains "very active," according to police. Laskin Road was closed between Republic Road and First Colonial Road Saturday morning, but has since re-opened.
Members of the Fatal Accident Crash Team are investigating the crash.
