Man shot after altercation in Hampton, police say

HAMPTON, Va. - The Hampton Police Division is asking for the public's help in finding whoever is responsible for a shooting that left a man injured Friday night.

At approximately 7:47 p.m., dispatchers received a call about a shooting that had just happened in the 500 block of Settlers Landing Road. When officers arrived on scene, they found a man who had been hit by gunfire. He was taken to a local hospital with injuries that are said to be non-life-threatening.

The preliminary investigation revealed the victim was shot after being involved in an altercation.

The motive and circumstances surrounding this incident are still under investigation, and there is no suspect information at this time.
