Man shot at Hampton gas station, police searching for suspect

HAMPTON, Va. - The Hampton Police Division is searching for a suspect in a Saturday morning shooting that left a man injured.

At approximately 12:36 a.m., dispatch received a call in reference to a walk-in shooting victim at a local hospital. When officers arrived at the hospital, they spoke to a 25-year-old male victim who had been struck by gunfire.

The man's injuries were said to be non-life-threatening, according to police.

Preliminary investigation revealed the man was at a gas station in the 1000 block of West Mercury Boulevard when he was shot by an unknown subject. The business also sustained damage from gunfire.

The motive and circumstances of this incident are still under investigation, and there is currently no suspect information.
