Man dies at hospital after being found with gunshot wound following crash in Norfolk

NORFOLK, Va. - Norfolk Police Department is investigating a shooting that left a man dead Friday.

Around 6:30 a.m., police responded to the 1400 block of Shelton Avenue for a report of a gunshot disturbance. While the officers were on scene, they learned that a man was found suffering from a gunshot wound following a crash in the 200 block of 35th Street.

The man, later identified as Deonta A. Flythe Jr., 21, was taken to Sentara Norfolk General Hospital. He was pronounced dead at the hospital.

There is currently no suspect information.

This investigation is ongoing.
