PORTSMOUTH, Va. - A man died in Portsmouth early Thursday morning, police said.
Dispatch received the 911 call around 6:45 a.m.
Police responded to the 1100 block of Mt Vernon Ave., for reports of a gunshot wound.
Police said the man sustained an injury to the torso and was pronounced deceased at the scene by medics.
