Man shot while leaving Hampton residence, police search for suspect

HAMPTON, Va. - Police are a seeking the public’s assistance in identifying the suspect(s) in connection with a shooting that happened on September 16.

Around 11:30 p.m., Public Safety Communications got a call about a shooting in the area of the 800-block of Rolfe Street. Officers located an adult male victim in the roadway suffering from non-life-threatening injuries.

Police said the preliminary investigation revealed that the victim was exiting a residence and was in the front yard area when he was struck by gunfire. The victim was taken to the hospital for treatment.

The motive and circumstances surrounding this incident remain under investigation and there is no suspect information, according to police.
