Man shot while walking in Hampton, police searching for suspect

HAMPTON, Va. - The Hampton Police Division is asking for the public's help to identify the suspect or suspects behind a Thursday night shooting that left a man injured.

According to police, at approximately 9:23 p.m., dispatch received a call for a shooting that just occurred in the 2900 block of Shell Road. When officers arrived, they found a 53-year-old male victim who had been struck by gunfire.

The man was taken to a local hospital with non-life-threatening injuries.

Police said the victim was walking in the area of the 2900 block of Shell Road when he was shot. The motive and circumstances surrounding this incident are still investigation, and there is currently no suspect information.
