NEWPORT NEWS, Va. - The Newport News Police Department is investigating after a man was stabbed to death Thursday night.
According to police, the call for the stabbing came in at 5:26 p.m., and officers responded to the 1100 block of 76th Street. When they arrived, they found the victim, 66-year-old Samuel Edward Caulder, suffering from stab wounds. He was declared dead at 5:33 p.m.
Police said 62-year-old Raymond Eugene Thompson was taken into custody when police arrived and was charged with second-degree murder.
Officers say there is no threat to the public. Caulder and Thompson know each other, and police say this incident is domestic related.
This incident is still under investigation.
