Man taken to hospital after Newport News shooting; police investigating

NEWPORT NEWS, Va. - Police in Newport News are investigatinga shooting in the 200 block of Tyler Avenue that left a man seriously injured Wednesday night.

The call came in minutes before 11 p.m.

When officers arrived on scene, they found a man who had been shot. Police believe his injuries are life-threatening.

Medics took the man to a local hospital for treatment.

There is no suspect information at this time.

The investigation remains ongoing.
