PORTSMOUTH, Va. - Police responded to a shooting early Monday morning that left a man dead.
Officials say they received a call for the incident around 2:31 p.m., in regards to a shooting from the 2000 Block of Charleston Avenue.
Police and medics responded and found a man, identified as 26-year-old William Selfridge, with a gunshot wound to the torso. Reports say Selfridge's injuries were serious and he was transported to a local hospital for treatment.
Selfridge died at the hospital.
There is no further information at this time and the shooting remains under investigations.
