VIRGINIA BEACH, Va. - A man is in the hospital with life-threatening injuries after barricading himself inside a home in the 2400 block of Indian River Roadduring a domestic incident Thursday evening.
Around 6:42 p.m., police responded to area for a report of a domestic incident. Officers arrived on scene to find a female victim suffering from a non-life-threatening gunshot wound.
Authorities say the suspect barricaded himself in the residence. Police negotiated with him for several hours when they heard a gunshot. Officers made their way inside the home and found a man suffering from a life-threatening gunshot wound.
Both the suspect and the victim were taken to local hospitals for treatment.
Police say they are not looking for any other suspects at this time.
