NORFOLK, Va. - Chief Hull Technician Justin Huf, 39, of California, died of COVID-related complications on February 22.
He was a U.S. Navy Sailor assigned to Assault Craft Unit 4 based at Joint Expeditionary Base Little Creek, Va.
Huf started quarantining on Feb. 16 after developing symptoms, tested positive for COVID-19 on Feb. 19, and was admitted to Sentara Leigh Hospital in Norfolk on Feb. 20.
Huf was in the ICU at the time of his death, and Sailors who came in close contact with him were notified. The sailors are taking proper precautions, and emotional support is available.
