CHESTERFIELD COUNTY, VA – Police have located the missing infantfrom Newport News, Va., for whom an Amber Alert was issued earlier Thursday.
Someone notified police that the suspect could be in the Chesterfield area. According to a news release, officers then searched apartment complexes and located the suspect vehicle on Goolsby Avenue.
Police called additional resources.
The suspect exited the apartment with the infant in her hands, but attempted to flee once she saw police.
The infant was taken to a local hospital for treatment and observation.
The suspect, identified as Tykirah Reid, 20, of Chesterfield, was arrested and is charged in Chesterfield with Abduction, Child Neglect, Obstruction of Justice, and Petit Larceny.
She's currently being held in the Chesterfield County Jail without bond.
