NEWPORT NEWS, Va. - The Newport News Police Department is investigating a shooting that took place in the 500 block of Oyster Point Road Friday morning.
According to police, the call for the shooting came in at 11:25 a.m. When officers arrived, they found an individual suffering from a non-life threatening injury.
The victim was taken to a local hospital.
Police did not release any suspect information, and the investigation remains ongoing. According to police, Oyster Point Road is currently closed between Jefferson Avenue and HQ Way.
