Woman left with life-threatening injuries after Newport News shooting

NEWPORT NEWS, Va. - The Newport News Police Department is on the scene of a shooting in the 3000 block of Marshall Avenue that left a woman seriously injured.

According to police, officers were sent to the scene at approximately 3:51 p.m. When they arrived, they made contact with an adult female suffering from a gunshot wound.

The victim was taken to a local hospital with a life-threatening injury, police said.

The circumstances are under investigation, and there is no suspect information to release at this time.
