Police identify victim of Newport News homicide investigation

NEWPORT NEWS, Va. - The Newport News Police Department responded to a shooting in the 500 block of Woodall Court Tuesday afternoon that left one male victim dead and two more injured.

According to police, the call came in for gunshots at 4:34 p.m. and was upgraded to a shooting at 4:36 p.m.

Three victims were taken to a local hospital. One male victim was pronounced dead at the hospital, and the other two male victims, an 18 and 19-year-old were left with non-life-threatening injuries.

On Friday, June 12, police identified the deceased as 20-year-old Traveon Holland.

The homicide investigation remains ongoing.
