No injuries after Chesapeake house fire

CHESAPEAKE, Va. - Firefighters with the Chesapeake Fire Department responded to a house fire in the 2000 block for Buckland Street Monday night.

Around 8:11 p.m., several people called 911 to report a fire in the South Norfolk section of the city.

Chesapeake Engine 1 arrived on scene five minutes later to find heavy smoke and flames.

Firefighters went inside the home and searched the structure. The fire was marked under control at 9:25 p.m.

The cause of the fire is currently under investigation.
