NORFOLK, Va. (NPD) – A Norfolk man died Saturday afternoon following a crash in the 400 block of E. Bayview Boulevard.
Police said 58-year-old David W. Ford was attempting to cross E. Bayview Boulevard from Meadowbrook Lane in an electric wheelchair device when he was struck by a vehicle traveling west on E. Bayview Boulevard.
Ford was taken to the hospital but died shortly after he arrived.
The driver of the vehicle who struck Ford remained on-scene following the crash. Speed and alcohol do not appear to be contributing factors to the crash.
All lanes in the 400 block of E. Bayview Boulevard were closed for several hours while police investigated this crash.
